The Gutter Guard LeafGuard® covered gutters work on the scientific principle of liquid adhesion. The curved design of these leaf guards allows rain water to travel down, around and into the underlying trough, while deflecting leaves and debris.
Below is an animation depicting the patented Gutter Guard LeafGuard® in action. Notice how the covered gutters allow the rain water to drain into the trough below, while leaves and organic debris cascade off onto the ground. With the Gutter Guard LeafGuard® system, you never have to worry about cleaning your gutters agai
Q. Can Gutter Guard LeafGuard® be installed on existing Gutters?
Gutter Guard LeafGuard is a seamless, system of covered gutters attached to the fascia board of the house with strong, specially fabricated internal brackets. It is one continuous piece of material, unlike traditional rain gutter cover systems. Gutter Guard LeafGuard is roll formed to seamless custom lengths on site at your home.
Q. What is the Gutter Guard LeafGuard® Covered Gutters Guarantee?
The Gutter Guard LeafGuard® covered gutters is guaranteed not to
clog with leaves, pine needles, or other organic debris as long as you own your
home or we'll clean them for free. In addition, the baked enamel paint finish
is guaranteed not to chip, peel or crack for 20 years.
Q. How sturdy is the Gutter Guard LeafGuard® seamless covered
gutters?
The Gutter Guard LeafGuard® covered gutters use .032 aluminum,
approximately 20% thicker than conventional gutters or gutter leaf covers. The Gutter
Guard LeafGuard® covered gutters are screwed to the fascia board
every 2 feet with internal hanging brackets, unlike conventional gutter leaf
covers that are attached with spikes that can come loose.
Q. In what lengths do Gutter Guard LeafGuard® seamless
gutters come?
The Gutter Guard LeafGuard® system is a seamless gutter that is
roll-formed to custom lengths at your home or on the job site by a mobile
gutter machine.
Q. Is my roof too steep for a seamless gutter leaf guard
system?
The Gutter Guard LeafGuard® seamless gutter system works well no
matter what the pitch of your roof. In fact, the steeper the roof, the better
the performance, which is not the case with most conventional rain gutter cover
systems.
Q. What is Gutter Guard LeafGuard® constructed of?
Gutter Guard LeafGuard® systems are seamless, one-piece aluminum covered
gutters. Since it is aluminum, it will never rust or deteriorate like some
galvanized steel gutters or gutter covers.
Q. How does it work in a heavy rain?
Gutter Guard LeafGuard® has been laboratory tested in a simulated rainfall of
over 21 inches per hour. It will catch rain water; but will NEVER clog.
Q. How do the Gutter Guard LeafGuard® covered gutters work?
Liquid adhesion is the scientific principle behind Gutter Guard LeafGuard's®
unique design. Molecular attraction causes water molecules to adhere to the
surface they rest on, in this case the Gutter Guard LeafGuard® hood. Rainwater
clings to the hood and falls in the gutter trough. The narrow opening between
the hood and gutter deters debris from entering the gutter, easily deflecting
it. It's that simple!
Q. Do the covered gutters keep out pine needles?
Yes, Gutter Guard LeafGuard® works great with pine needles, leaves, and other
organic debris.
Q. You mean to say that nothing will get in the Gutter Guard
LeafGuard® covered gutters?
No, that's not what we're saying. Clogged gutters are associated with rainfall
because that is when the problem becomes apparent, but most debris gets into a
conventional gutter when it's not raining. The Gutter Guard LeafGuard® covered
gutters deflect this dry debris almost entirely. What little bit of debris that
gets in the Gutter Guard LeafGuard® gutter when it rains will flush out of the
downspout because of the lack of accumulated debris in the gutter.
Q. In a heavy rain the water will just slide right off the LeafGuard®
covered gutters, won't it?
In roof valleys where there is a heavy concentration of water, or the lowest
point of the gutter run such as the corners, some of this water may overshoot
the Gutter Guard LeafGuard® covered gutters.
Q. How do I get more information on Gutter Guard LeafGuard®?
For more information on the Gutter Guard LeafGuard® gutter system, or any of
your guttering needs, please use our find a dealer page or call
1-800-LeafGuard.
Q. Why is LeafGuard's® one-piece construction important?
With no moveable parts, the LeafGuard® system provides superior protection
against wind and storm damage. The seamless construction also eliminates the
possibility of debris entering the covered gutters from behind - a common
problem with multi-piece gutters and gutter leaf covers.
Q. Will Gutter Guard LeafGuard® gutters alter the appearance of my
house?
The Gutter Guard LeafGuard® covered gutters are an aesthetically pleasing
addition to a home, unlike some rain gutter cover systems. The low profile
design enhances the look of your home, blends in with your cornice and won't
interfere with your roof warranty or re-roofing.
